Adam and Anya's Wedding

About Us

We were engaged on June 28th, 2005, on the island of Bornholm, Denmark,
at Helligdomsklipperne (Sanctuary Cliffs). The picture above was taken one second
afterwards. We are still happy as herrings (sorry, bad joke - lots of
herrings on Bornholm. 12 different kinds at the herring buffet, in fact.)

We live on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, with our very small cat Boo.

The Wedding

We are getting married at 5:30 in the evening on October 22, 2006 in New Orleans, Louisiana,
on the grounds of the Audubon Zoo with a reception to follow at the Audubon Tea Room.
There will be live oak trees, fountains, a klezmer band, oysters, and sea lions (not to eat).

Travel and Accomodations
Airlines are gradually increasing the number of flights to New Orleans, but it's good to book
early. JetBlue flies direct and cheaply from New York City.

Blocks of rooms have been reserved under the Kamenetz-Berenzweig wedding at
the following hotels in the French Quarter (see the map below):
(NOTE! Group rates will expire a month before the wedding.)

  • Omni Royal Orleans $179-219 a night
    (504) 529-5333 or (800) 578-0500
(but make sure you ask for the Omni Royal Orleans, not some other Omni).
Group number for the Kamenetz-Berenzweig wedding:: 11600704842
  • Hotel Provincial $149 a night
    (504) 581-4995 or (800) 535-7922

Weather & Dress

October is generally the nicest month in New Orleans. The average
temperature is 70 degrees, nights can drop to low 60s, and it
rarely gets above 80. It is also the driest (we hope!!).

The wedding will be semiformal: dresses, jackets, ties or all three!
Colorful, festive attire is encouraged. Wear your dancing shoes!

Getting to the French Quarter from the Airport

There are airport hotel shuttles that run from the airport for $13 per person.
A taxi will cost around $28.
For details, visit the New Orleans International Airport website.

Shuttle to the Audubon Tea Room

We will be organizing transportation from the Omni to the Audubon Tea
Room, leaving the Omni at 4:30 on Sunday. It will shuttle back from
the wedding to the Quarter at 9:15, 9:45, and 10:00. Space is somewhat
limited, and it will be provided first-come first-serve to those who
sign up with the concierge at the Omni: (504) 529-5333 from 10am to 6pm,
central time. Alternatively, fill in the form below and we will pass
your name along to the concierge.

Cabs from the French Quarter are readily available, and will cost $10-$15.
We will arrange to have cabs at the wedding for the return journey.

Driving Directions to the Audubon Tea Room

From the French Quarter: about 6 miles, 15-20 minutes driving time.

Leave the Quarter on Royal Street, going south towards Canal Street.
Across Canal, Royal becomes St. Charles Avenue.
Stay on St. Charles around Lee Circle and under the highway overpass.
Continue on St. Charles until Nashville Ave, about 10 minutes.
Turn left on Nashville, then right on Magazine Street in 9 blocks.
Audubon Park begins after 6 blocks; turn left into the Audubon Zoo.
The Tea Room is to the left of the Zoo entrance.

Our Registries

Our first preference is that you make a donation to our Nola Wedding Relief Fund.
Along with the wedding party, we are volunteering a few days before the
wedding with a local rebuilding group. We would love you to participate by
donating to the fund.

We have also registered at these places:

  • ABC Carpet & Home - A different kind of registry. Rather than individual
items, you give gift certificates and we get to pick stuff out later from
    their collection of treasures.
  • Crate & Barrel
  • Williams-Sonoma
  • Amazon
