About the Fund
We're getting married in New Orleans, Anya's hometown, and we want to celebrate the city as well as our life together. So on October 19 and 20, the wedding party will be working to restore the Katrina-damaged houses of local musicians in need. We will be working with the Arabi Wrecking Krewe and The New Orleans Musicans' Hurricane Relief Fund, two great local nonprofits that we know personally.
If you can't join us, you can still help out! In order to maximize our project's impact, we want to add a nice cash contribution to the short two days we have to offer. Supplies for a mold abatement/house gutting are about $200 for two days, and cash grants to musicians from the New Orleans Musicians' Hurricane Relief Fund run $3000-$6000. Donating through our project now, just as hurricane season is kicking into high gear, lets you know exactly where your cash is going.
